Directions On How To Tie A Tie Blanket
Have You Made A Tie- Blanket Before?
I am making my boyfriend a tie Blanket this year for Christmas. I bought 2 pieces of fabric already and now all I have to do is cut and tie. I tried to google the directions and I got some insight but it’s a little confusing on the instructions.
I hear it’s very easy to make so I kind of feel dumb for asking but I was wondering if anyone had a sweet and short answer to how to cut and tie? The lady at JoAnn’s said that I needed to do something special to the corners but she didn’t exactly know what.
Can anyone help me out? I am also making one for my boyfriend’s puppy as well
Put the two pieces of fleece on top of each other, and trim off any extra overhang. Also trim off any selvege – the edge that might have writing on it.
Cut 3-4 inch fringe around the edges, through both pieces, all the way around.
What you will notice is that, when you get to the corners, you are basically cutting overtop of what you already cut, so you will end up taking a sqaures-worth of fabric out of the corners. That is all it is, you dont’ need to do anything special to the corners.
Also don’t worry if you get off track with some of the trying, as it won’t show.
I perfer to make my cuts about 4 inches and double knot for security. I have a single knot blanket that often comes apart.
